About the event
The Let Black Girls Live: Black Girl Summer Social Series is a four-part community conversation series created and led by girls in Save Girls on F.Y.E.R.'s Liberation Academy. Centering the voices, experiences, and leadership of Black and brown girls ages 12+, each session combines meaningful dialogue with a fun Summer Social atmosphere featuring a live DJ, games, snacks, and opportunities to connect.
Representation, Joy, and Black Girlhood, girls, their parents, caregivers, families, educators, community members, and allies, to a celebration of identity, culture, and the full brilliance of Black girlhood. Curated by the Liberation Academy Girls, this session explores how representation shapes confidence and aspiration; discusses the power of art, music, and storytelling as tools of expression and pride; and honors the joy, creativity, and beauty that Black girlhood holds. This is a space where Black girlhood is protected and celebrated.
